Ossoff Volunteers Working for Victory

Karl DeJong, IUPAT DC 5 retiree from just outside of Seattle.

June 20, voters in District 6 vote in the Congressional 6 special election runoff. Many union members and retirees have volunteered countless hours to contact union members and others encouraging them to vote for the working families candidate Jon Ossoff. Phone banks and door knocking have been going almost every day for quite awhile. And here at the Labor Council, we can't thank you enough.

There is one volunteer that we want to highlight. Karl Dejong is a retired member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Council (IUPAT) District 5 based in Seattle Washington. He worked in the sign and display industry and was an officer in his Council. Karl currently is an officer in his Central Labor Council. Frustrated by what is happening in the country, Karl traveled across the country to help out with the District 6 race. He got donations to support his travel and once he arrived in Georgia an Ossoff supporter offered him a room free so he wouldn't have to worry about paying for a  hotel. Karl has been here for an entire month, knocking on doors 6 days a week, hitting 20 doors a day!  Thanks for the help Karl! And thanks to everyone else who volunteered.
